the STORY
DR. KENNON VAUGHaN
On January 17 2023, Dr. Kennon Vaughan miraculously survived a tragic plane crash in Yoakum TX, which took the lives of the other 4 men on the plane, all of whom were dear friends and incredible men of God. While the post-crash journey of grief and recovery has been the most difficult and painful of Kennon's life, it has also provided for the deepest intimacy with Christ he has ever known. 2 years later, through a series of unexpected testimonies and events related to the crash, it has become evident that God is doing something redemptive in and around South Texas in the wake of the tragedy. In the way that only God does, He is bringing new life out of death. Sensing God's leading, Dr. Vaughan will be sharing his story and a message the Lord has placed on his heart from God's Word on the 2-year anniversary weekend of the crash in the very field where God supernaturally spared his life. Kennon has come to believe, with great assurance, that his life was spared so that many others might be redeemed in the midst of their own trials, suffering, and brokenness. Come hear about the God who redeems through this incredible story of redemption on January 18-19th in Yoakum, TX.
Kennon’s journey of faith began at age 13, when a life-changing encounter with the Gospel set him on a path of transformation. Through personal trials—including the loss of his father as a teenager—and the mentorship of godly men, he discovered the power of discipleship and the importance of growing in God’s Word.
Guided by this passion, Kennon founded Downline Ministries in Memphis, TN in 2006 to equip men and women to make disciples in and through the local church, and in 2013, he planted Harvest Church Memphis, where he still serves as Lead Pastor. He holds advanced degrees in Biblical Studies and Theology, and his mission is clear: to see lives and communities transformed by the power of the Gospel, and a restoration of Biblical discipleship in and through the local church,
Today, Kennon lives in Memphis with his wife, Kathryn, and their five sons. He’s devoted to his faith, his family, and his calling to share his story of redemption that others may be inspired to follow Christ.
